Monika Sokaitė (b. 1990) started her path in music as a violin player in Stasys Šimkus conservatoire. From 2006 she continued her studies in Vilnius Juozas Tallat-Kelpša conservatoire, where she graduated the disciplines of music theory and critics and composition with Teisutis Makačinas. Later Monika continued her studies as a composer at Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with Ričardas Kabelis. Currently she is advancing her composition skills with professor Vaclovas Augustinas.
  Her compositions are performed at various contemporary music festivals and concerts. She get a 3rd prize in competitions for young composers in Vilnius 2010 and 2nd prize in competition MUSICA SACRA NOVA 2015 for the composition „Lacrimosa“.   
 Young artist expresses herself not only in music but also in the field of writing for various arts publications. She is as well a freequent participant of musicology conferences.
