Pie Jesu Domine (col)
Requiem nº 2
2011
Para coro mixto, soprano, violin, coro de niños, harpa
Dura 15 minutos
There are times when music is truly transcendent. Recently, I had an experience that I will take with me the rest of my life. This was an event by and for a community that is grieving the loss of one of their own. We came together to share in that grief and to help ease that pain and I would like to share the performance with you. As with any Requiem, this has been a very emotional project. I am honored to have been a part (however large or small) of the healing process. We came together to express our grief and to find catharsis through music, as one community. As Nathan Cohen said before the performance, "We begin in a place of darkness and travel to a lighter place, together."
