Samuragochi, Mamoru (1963)
NiigakiTakashi (1970)

Info
REQUIEM HIROSHIMA, a beautiful vocalise by Mamoru Samuragochi, was given its first performance since its 2007 premiere in Hiroshima on July 29, 2013, by the Young People's Chorus of New York City conducted by its Artistic Director/Founder Francisco J. Núñez , a particular highlight of their summer tour of Asia. The performance, part of a two-hour concert by YPC in Shinjyuku Concert Hall, was attended by Mr. Samuragochi, a second generation survivor of the 1945 nuclear holocaust. He wrote REQUIEM HIROSHIMA as an expression of his hope for a world free of nuclear weapons and in memory of a 15-year-old young man, who died from post-nuclear complications, the third generation in his family to be affected.
