Johann P F E I F F E R was born in 1697 at Nürnberg (Germany). he studied violin and law. In 1720 he was violinist at Weimar, in 1726 he was appointed as Konzertmeister, his predecessor was...J.S. Bach, who left in 1717 and left an empty post for almost 10 years.In 1734 he was the teacher for composition, to the countess Wilhelmine in Bayreuth, where he stayed till his death in 1761. He was the best payed musician in Bayreuth! (1575 Reichstaler)He wrote orchestra suites, chamber music and solo concerto's for flute, oboe, lute, viuol and violin. Also cantatas, airs and a Requiem.
